The Jiggypoof

Let me tell you the tale of the Jiggypoof. A bird-like creature with a mouthbeak full of razor teeth. With wings & furry legs, with long claws. I once clashed with this creature. It dug it’s claws into my back. I howled in pain as it tried to rip out my brain. I grabbed the foul thing and threw it over my shoulder. With a loud thud, It landed on its back. I quickly grabbed my sword & put it through its stomach, pinning it to the floor. It’s claws tried to grab the sword, but was unsuccessful. I buried the sword deeper until the Jiggypoof moved no more.

It shrieked in pain.

I have discovered, once it scratches you, you’re doomed to become one. As I write this, my left arm has essentially sprouted thick, coarse feathers. I can’t wear my mask any longer, as my face is hideously contorting into something my mirror no longer recognizes. My teeth have fallen out, replaced by tiny sharp fangs. My body aches, as if my bones are realigning themselves under my skin. I’m turning into this thing, hungry for human flesh. Only one chance. If I put a bullet in my brain, and I will stop turning. I must do it, before my craving becomes uncontrollable. This is my last journal entry. My vision is becoming blurry & it’s becoming harder to focus. I wish I was really strong enough to kill myself, but I cannot. I am a coward, and now, a monster.

Goodbye humanity.
