El Sapo Blanco vs. The Wendigo

I was called by the mayor of the town of Tromaville, because they were having a rash of murders. Twenty two victims, ripped into bloody chunks.

Based on the crime scenes, the physical evidence and my keen deductive skills, I came to the realization that the town was dealing with a foul, murderous creature.

A wendigo.

Wendigos can mimic any creature it desires. It uses its shape shifting ability to lull its victims into a false sense of security, before it rips its them into bloody chunks, feeding on the flesh.

The town of Tromaville had a wendigo problem.

I aimed to solve that problem.

We waited till nightfall (wendigos are nocturnal creatures) before myself, Sheriff Webb & Deputy Bedy went into the woods. I had my samurai sword and my shotgun, Webb & Bedy had their service revolvers.

About an hour into our hunt, we come across a small clearing, where we see a small girl, no older than 5 years old, sitting on the cold ground, crying.

"Mommy? Where’s my mom?” wailed the little girl, as she looked at us.

Before I can stop him, Webb holstered his revolver & rushed in to save the little child.

Bedy took a step forward, but I grabbed his shoulder and yelled to Webb, “it’s the wendigo! Its a trick! A trap!”

The little girl stood and extended her arms. Webb scooped her up into his arms, “It’s ok. I got you.”

The little girl turned to me and smiled. I gulped hard.

Her arms stretched out longer than humanly possible. Her arms turned into tentacles, which promptly wrapped themselves around Webb’s torso. Her gaping mouth exposed rows and rows of sharp yellow teeth. She bit into his face, ripping the eyes, nose & lips off in bits of blood, muscle & sinew. Webb’s screams pierced the STILL night. The wendigo-girl released the crumpled body and turned its attention to us.

Now, it transformed into a wolf.

It’s eyes narrowed and the wendigo-wolf charged at us. I pushed Bedy out of the way as the shape shifter attacked. I lifted my shotgun and shot the wendigo-wolf, while it charged past us. The shells hit the wendigo. It yelled in pain as it turned around and jumped. The wendigo’s jaws ripped into Bedy’s throat. His last words gurgled out of the gaping hole where his neck once was. The creature turned and grinned at me as it transformed into a bear.

Now was my chance. *

As the wendigo changed from wolf to bear, I swung my sword three times.

Thwack! Thwack!! Thwack!!!

The wendigo’s head landed on the ground with a loud thud as its body landed beside it. The nightmare is over.

For now.

*Fun fact: wendigos are at their weakest when in mid-transformation.
